Tucson Airport Train Transfers
There is no train service to or from Tucson Airport (TUS). Taking Bus Line 25 from the TUS to the Tucson Amtrak Station will cost roughly $2 and take about 50 minutes. Taking a taxi from TUS to the Tucson Amtrak Station will cost you $30 and take about 14 minutes.
Tucson Amtrak Train Station
The Sunset Limited and the Texas Eagle each stop off at the Tucson station three times per week. This station was constructed by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1907. It was designed by Daniel J. Patterson, who also designed the San Antonio Station simultaneously.
Union Pacific merged with Southern Pacific in 1998. The original 1941 updated Spanish Colonial Revival architecture of the main depot building and the three surrounding buildings was restored in 2004.
Brick walls, red clay roof tiles, and bright, ornate tilework characterize this waiting area, designed in the Spanish Colonial Revival style. The station and other railroad structures belong to the Tucson Warehouse Historic District, designated on the National Register.
In 2009, the historic Old Pueblo Trolley streetcar route was extended to the train station. Sun Link took over the line's operations in 2014. The former Records Vault building now houses the Southern Arizona Transportation Museum.
