Buses from Tucson Airport with Bus Routes and Times
Sun Tran, the local bus service, operates two routes that frequently stop at Tucson Airport. You may catch a bus to the airport just outside the terminal. Locate ground transportation by following the signs.
Walk out of the baggage claim area and across the street. The Sun Tran stop is located to the right on the first island.
Route 11
From the airport, take Route 11 (Alvernon Way) north, and follow it as it merges with Palo Verde Road and continues into the city's heart to the Tucson Jewish Community Center at the intersection of Dodge Boulevard and River Road.
On weekdays, flights leave the airport approximately every half hour from 5:25 AM to 5:55 PM and then hourly until 11 PM. Hourly service begins on Saturdays at 5:35 AM and continues until 7:35 PM. Travel times on Sundays and holidays are hourly between 5:55 AM and 6:55 PM.
It takes about 35 minutes to go to Broadway/Alvernon from the airport and an hour to get to Dodge/River. Take a bus southbound for the airport that has "Airport" on the front.
The Laos Transit Center is an alternate destination for some Route 11 buses.
Route 25
Suppose you take Route 25 (South Park Avenue) north of the airport. In that case, you'll get to the Laos Transit Center (located at 205 W. Irvington Road). You may head downtown via Park Avenue (which becomes Broadway) and Congress Street (which becomes University Boulevard).
On weekdays, flights leave the airport every hour from 4:10 AM until 7:40 PM and after that every hour until 11:40 PM. On Saturdays, trips leave every hour between 5:40 AM and 7:40 PM. Hourly service begins at 6:25 AM on Sundays and holidays and continues until 7:25 PM.
About 25 minutes is the estimated time to reach the Laos Transit Center from the airport, and 40 minutes is required to get to the intersection of 6th Avenue and Pennington Street downtown. To go to the airport from the south, you must take a bus that says "Airport."
Note that not all Route 25 buses continue past the Laos Transit Center on Saturdays.
